Becoming a member of the dojo is as simple as visiting the dojo, talking with senior students or an instructor about determining if membership in Aikido Shobukan Dojo is right for you.
Membership Dues
As a non-profit 501(c)3 organization, membership dues cover the costs for operating and support various programs in support of the mission of the dojo. In addition to these dues, we ask our students to cover yearly membership dues for Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (“ASU”), which cover similar operating costs and programs for ASU.
Monthly Membership Dues (No Contracts)
- $95.00 / month
Annual ASU Dues
- $45.00 / year for beginners & mudansha (“white belts”)
- $75.00 / year for yudansha (“black belts”)
We also offer discounted rates for students, couples, and families, as well as work-study scholarship opportunities.
New Members
New members contribute an additional $50.00 upon entry into Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (ASU) and this dojo. This covers the cost of ASU dues and $5.00 for registration forms, ASU patch, and ASU handbook.
A dogi (practice clothes) and other supplies can be purchased locally or over the internet.
