Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (“ASU”) is an organization founded by Mitsugi Saotome, Shihan (“Sensei”), Patty Saotome, and early students of Sensei. It is our honor to humbly serve as the headquarters dojo of this organization and serve as a model for Aikido and martial arts dojo. Members of our school are also members of ASU and serve as emissary of the dojo and ASU when traveling the world.
We also work tightly with ASU in organizing ASU Summer Intensive here in Washington, DC and other seminars throughout the United States and world.
As the headquarters dojo, we proudly display several quilts that were gifted to Sensei on a special anniversary of all of the member dojo in ASU flanking our shomen.

A sample of the quilts representing member dojo in the ASU family.
The photo in the header is from the Aiki Shrine in Myakka City, Florida, which is graciously cared for by ASU members in the Florida area and by visitors and guests.
