Becoming a member of the dojo is as simple as visiting the dojo, watching a class, and talking with senior students or an instructor to determine if membership with Aikido Shobukan Dojo is right for you.

Membership Dues
As a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization, membership dues go towards operating costs and help support various programs in support of the dojo’s mission. In addition to the monthly dues, we ask our students to cover their annual membership dues for Aikido Schools of Ueshiba (“ASU”), which cover similar operating costs and programs for ASU.

Monthly Adult Membership Dues (No Contracts)
- $75.00 / month for
- Persons 18-29 years of age
- Public school teachers
- $95.00 / month standard rate for adult members
- We offer discounted rates for enrolling multiple family members

Annual ASU Dues
- $45.00 / year for beginners & mudansha (“white belts”)
- $75.00 / year for yudansha (“black belts”)
New Members
At time of joining, a new members pays their first month dues (pro-rated, based on when you join) to Aikido Shobukan Dojo, as well as the annual $50.00 fee towards the Aikido Schools of Ueshiba. In return the member receives a one-time complementary dogi (training uniform), the ASU training handbook, and an ASU patch.

Additional dogi (practice clothes) and other supplies can be purchased directly from the dojo, or purchased locally or over the internet.
