Join Aikido Shobukan Dojo at our annual Summer Intensive, July 1-5, 2026!
We’re incredibly honored to invite you to celebrate our 50th year as an active dojo with a five day intensive,
with a rare focus on Saotome Sensei’s weapons kata.
We have loaner weapons for those in need, but encourage folks to bring their own weapons if possible.
This event is limited to 60 people, and begins Wednesday morning.

Detailed Schedule
July 1 Wednesday starting at 11am – July 5 Sunday ending at 12pm — Further Details will follow
Wednesday – Kumi Jo 1-6 series
Thursday – Aiki-ken Bokken 1-12 series
Friday – Kasumi Jo and Patrol Kata Jo Series 1 & 2
Saturday – Aiki-ken Bokken 13-15 and Kumi-Iai Series (1-5)
Sunday – Two-Sword Forms and Kata
Most weapons series will be offered twice and there will be a sign-up link provided to registered participants two weeks prior to the event.
Housing Details
Limited dojo housing is available for $15 per night.
Dojo housing with dojo members is available upon request.

Cancellations
Send cancellations and waiting list requests to manager@aikido-shobukan.org. Please let us know about cancellations as soon as possible. Cancellations sent in after the event has started and no-shows may be billed.
